The Legend


Long ago, there lay two worlds that paralleled each other in the universe. Two realms that existed side by side, separated by a magical seal and over a thousand years. One world that existed of humans known as mortals, and another that existed of beings known as youkai and demons. Only a select few youkai had the knowledge of this and the secret was kept within their family for centuries. They were known as the guardians of the seal of time.


Within the youkai realm, over a thousand years before modern day, a war raged between the light ‘youkai’ and the dark ‘demons’, for there could not be evil in any realm without good to balance it.

Within the youkai nation, in a garden known as the Heart of Time, deep within the walls of an abandoned castle, a statue of a young human miko stands. Surrounded by an age-old magic that has kept its secret treasure hidden and well preserved, her hands are outstretched as if waiting for something precious to be placed in them.

Legend says that she is waiting for a powerful stone known as “The Guardian Heart Crystal” to return to her. Sealed within the crystal is the power to cross time and space over a thousand years between worlds. Only those who wear the crest of the Guardians know of the true secrets behind the statue and how it became. Only one spirit possessed the coveted stone and she was the one true treasure. A priestess that many would try to claim no matter the consequence.

Standing on the side of good were the ones known as the youkai lords. Five brothers, all-powerful in their own highborn rights and guardians to the seal that separated the two worlds.

Kyou, the first-born, has long silvery white hair and eyes of gold dust. He keeps to himself and often hides any outward emotions. In appearance, he seems distant and cold, but within his stoic exterior, he has a softer side that very few are privilege to. Clad almost always in a loose-fitting white shirt and black pants, accented with a golden sash, he is the essence of a deadly angel. His hidden powers are lethal and very few challenge his strength. His youki is a weapon that he uses to create powerful youki blasts and other deadly weapons, but his mind control abilities are unsurpassed. Kyou’s physical weapon is a sword known as Hakaisha; it’s name alone meaning destruction.

Toya is the second born and has long black hair with silver streaks. His eyes are the color of gold dust but melt to molten silver with golden flecks when using his powers. He has a temper from hell and a foul mouth but hides a heart of gold. He wears a red shirt and black pants. His power is to manipulate fire & ice. His weapons are twin daggers and when placing the daggers across each other he can break barriers with a florescent blue light. The greater his will to protect, the greater his power becomes so even he does not know the true extent of his strength.

Shinbe is the third born (half brother) and has long midnight blue hair and amethyst eyes. He often acts like the playboy of the group and wears a bluish gray trench coat, black pants that seem to move with his every movement and an icy blue shirt with some buttons undone. His power is telekinesis and telepathy. He also gets premonitions and what he says is never taken for granted by the other brothers. He can cast spells of protection.

Kotaro is forth born (half brother) and has wind blown shoulder length ebony hair and ice blue eyes. His personality is kind of fly by the seat of his pants and he jumps to conclusions that get him into trouble more often then not. He is also known for a foul mouth. He wears all black with a purple undershirt showing through. His power is his ability to create and manipulate wind. He has speed that is unmatched by any other youkai or demon alike. His weapon is his speed and strength during a fight.

Kamui is the youngest fifth brother (adopted for undisclosed reasons) and has purple hair and gray eyes. He is always happy and the cut up of the five brothers until you threaten one he protects. He wears a billowy yellow shirt and dark pants. His power is youkai magic.

The father of the five siblings, Tadamichi, was first in line to take his father’s place as ruler of the demon world and head guardian of the seal of time. For centuries, his ancestors protected the seal that protected the human world from overlapping with the youkai world. This task was sacred and the lives of the humans, as well as youkai, had to be kept safe and secret from the other.

Unexpectedly, during his reign, a small band of humans accidentally crossed over into their world because of the sacred crystal known as The Guardian Heart Crystal. During a time of turmoil, it’s powers caused a rip in the seal that had separated the two dimensions. The leader of the human group and Tadamichi had quickly become allies, making a pact to close the rip in the seal and keep the two worlds sealed away from each other forever.

But during that time, Hyakuhei, Tadamichi’s younger brother had fallen in love with the daughter of the human leader. Against both of the newfound lover’s wishes, the rip had been repaired, and the strength of the seal had been increased by tenfold, separating the two lovers forever. Even his own blood brother, Tadamichi had betrayed him by making sure the lovers were separated. Hyakuhei’s broken heart turned to a malicious anger causing a battle between the two brothers, ending Tadamichi’s life and leaving his five sons to take guardianship over the seal.

The five-youkai lords wore born with the family crest as a symbol on the pulse point in the arc of the neck, but one other wore the family crest and knew of it’s secrets. Their fathers’ younger brother Hyakuhei, whom had joined the demons within the evil realm, also bore the crest as he had been born into the family who protected the shrine. His long midnight locks, reaching past his knees and a face belonging only to the most seductive, belied the true evil hidden within his angelic appearance.

As the war begins between the forces of light and dark, a blinding blue light is emitted from the sanctified statue. And a young miko, born over a thousand years into the future, accidentally steps into the mist of the war stricken land, holding The Guardian Heart Crystal within her own heart.

As the youkai lords are drawn to her and become her protectors, the battle between good and evil truly begins.
